A Cab Ride in China That Changed Everything
Three months ago, while sitting in the back of a cab in China, a single moment shifted the direction of my work. For those who’ve followed my journey, you’ll know I’ve dissected over $100,000 worth of luxury bags—cutting through the outer polish to expose the truth within. This began as a personal obsession: Why were these bags so expensive? Were they worth it? Most weren't. But the few that were? Those rare finds became benchmarks of excellence.
And it was in that cab, still processing a recent visit to a leather workshop, that I stumbled upon a realization that would change everything.
Not a Fake, But Not a Brand: The Paradox That Sparked an Idea
On that trip, while investigating content on counterfeit bags, I found a small workshop making luxury bags using the original shrunken calf leather from Germany—the same "Togo" leather I’ve grown to admire. They even used artisan stitching and high-grade steel hardware. Technically flawless. But here’s the kicker: these bags didn’t bear the brand names they were imitating.
That was the twist. These weren’t fakes—they weren’t pretending to be anything they weren’t. And it made me pause. If someone was willing to spend good money on a bag made with iconic leather and expert craftsmanship, but without the logo, what were they actually after?
A Hypothesis is Born: The Seed of Flora
Right there in that cab, a hypothesis formed in my mind: There are customers who value legendary leather and craftsmanship—but not the ego or cost of a luxury logo. They want excellence, not status. That moment gave birth to the idea of Flora: a beautiful, functional, logo-free bag that pays tribute to artisanal excellence.
I didn’t want to simply recreate an iconic silhouette without a logo—I wanted to evolve it. If the market wanted this kind of bag, why should their only option be a silent replica?
Testing the Waters: Flora's First Launch
Flora began as a test. I introduced a limited, initial batch and called it what it was: a hypothesis. But your response? It was thunderous. The preorders came in so fast, I had to stop accepting them just to maintain control and manage production timelines. For weeks, we went quiet—focusing on logistics and catching up with demand.
That flood of support wasn’t just a validation of the product. It was a vote of confidence in the mission.

One thing became immediately clear: you wanted more colors. And I took that request seriously. Behind the scenes, we began expanding the Flora line to become a “buffet” of exceptional leather experiences. The result?
Introducing 10 New Flora Leather & Color Options
We’ve added 10 new combinations to the Flora lineup, expanding both leather types and color palettes:
Togo Shrunken Calf (the legendary German leather): Now in Black, Beige, Gray, and Etoupe.
Silk Elba Leather (from a tannery near Barcelona): Now available in Sky and Lime.
New Artisanal Leathers: Blue and Taba Calf, along with Dual Tone Whiskey and Coffee.
Since it’s summer, what better time to play with more color? These new options allow you to express your taste while enjoying the comfort and quality of luxury leather—without the branding.
Production Update: Made to Order, Made Accessible
As of this week, all early preorders have been shipped. We’re now in continuous production, rolling out batches as new orders come in. While we’re still working with limited inventory, we’ve streamlined our timelines: current preorders ship within 3 to 6 weeks.
And more importantly, our made-to-order approach keeps costs down, so we can keep Flora at a price point that’s truly accessible. This isn’t a bag meant to sit on a shelf and collect dust—it’s built to be used, loved, and lived in.
Your Turn: Taste the Leather Buffet
This project has never been just about bags. It’s about creating a new lane in the leather world—where you can enjoy genuine, premium materials at a price that makes sense. Flora is just the beginning.

I have expensive designer bags and I regret buying them. I have started to be more careful when I buy a bag. I have been in Ubrique Spain and since then I only buy bags that Tanner recommends.
